Default pins on JTAG /MAX232

this probably seems obvious to most of you but ive read the terminology sticky, (great help) can anyone help me out with determining which cable i have to work with.
ive got one running from the modem with a rs232 connector (guess this maybe a max232) ive also got a 25 pin - rs232 adaptor. i recieved this with a kit for flashing eurovox. would this be the JTAG ? i know thats a propper nooob question, thanx .

Default Re: pins on JTAG /MAX232

25 pin is not RS232.

Thats a parallel connector.
