Restoring it to an earlier point shouldn really damage anything. It would simply mean any programs installed after that point would no longer be accessible.

What type of problems are we talking about? Let me know and i'll guide you in the right direction.

thnx dude but its ok he is gonna take for repair to get the cd drive workin
its just like it runs slow it keeps freezin registry is kinda messed up and all that needs fresh copy lol easier to solve everything

If you can still log in to Vista you can run the system recovery and that should sort out any mess your m8 might have done, but if you want to boot from an external source like “external hard drive or USB Memory Stick” then you will need to change the boot sequence, to do that reboot the system as soon as the laptop powering up a message should tell you on the screen which button to press to get into Bios, I think it would be F1 or DELETE, once you are in Bios at the top of the page you will see BOOT there you can change the way your system boot up either from Hard drive, CD Drive and other options, you can choose the option you would want the system to Boot from then you have to click on F10 to save and exit, then all you have to do is the source you want to boot from and reboot the system, you should get a message saying PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM…. What ever source you are using and there you go m8.

i tried that buddy yesterday no much luuck im gonna wait till he puts the new cd drive in lol thanks though
