Yes, a box name would help. Long Eaton isn't that far from Nottingham is it? If so, I found these:
Nottingham 1 NTL, 00008 755000 6887 Nottingham 2 NTL, 00008 739000 6887 The Net IDs are the same but you might need to alter the Frequency depending on what part of Nottingham/Long Eaton you go to. |

Well "flashed box" could be incorrect terminology for modified box as you rightly say but I think he's most likely on about a Starview, Kryptview, DBox or something.
