just done that and the net id is fine, is there anything else worth checking in there whilst i've got it up..

Sometimes the atmels need reflowing bad connection on the legs, check if net id is correct first as it may just need an update, are you sure its not saying er40 .

Hold standby i and put the power cable in the back when it shows ---- letgo and press all the buttons from the bottom up till it showa 4321 then press ok.

the net id is in there is fine, do i need to do what you said then?

Forced update is hold standbye and power up so you get 0000 on display, then press favourites , interactive , tv guide , tv ,in that order you should then have 4321 then press ok.
