Just looked in the Private FTA forum, looking in the 'Other Cable TV' file archive, I've found the file v_application1.1.

is the guide your talking about named 'cable for dummies'?

Cheers

Cable for dummies is a good guide, shows about mosc cards, when you get your programmer read card with nagra 4.1 and hopefully it wont be a locking image they have used.

Do you mean slow as in really slow? My V+ takes a second or two longer to change channels than on my Samsung 2110C.

well from what i can remember, it does take longer than the normal samsung ones. especially within the first 20mins of booting it up, when it takes ages to register what buttons i press! i haven;t used it for a while so i'll see how it is once i reprogram the card. so it's nothing to do with a jamming signal?

oh and is ppv even possible on these boxes?

i've just recieved my smartmouse programmer, however it came without a serial cable, and after reading another thread, apparetnly i need a null modem serial cable, is that correct?

it will have to be a male-female one as the port on the programmer is female and the port on my comp is male.

however, i've had a look on ebay and the male-female serial cables are not null modem? please advise...

Smartmouse? You need a Phoenix programmer to do the cards mate. You don't need a null modem cable, you need a straight through RS232 male to female lead. Post or e-mail me an image of the programmer you have.

Oh yeah, it's the Violet programmer. It will work mate, just get yourself a male to female RS232 cable and you will be fine. Null modem doesn't work because it's the same connection at both ends. The programmer is powered by USB as well which is easier than having power cables trapsing all over the place lol.
