just tried that,
soon as i power it up,
-tv shows a message for about 10 seconds saying something like please wait while box is upgrading.
-then it goes away, and the lcd on the box says 'nlt' and then 'pat',
-an ntl logo shows on the screen for about a second and then goes away,
-and then theres no output on the tv, the lcd says '400' and stays like that -no matter what i press. standby makes it dissappear and reappear,
-the box restarts itself after a few mins and repeats the above again and again.

its a pace 2000. is it knackered?

I think you are trying to use wrong box for your area m8, pace 2000 don't work in every area m8, unless you do a NASA job on it m8.

it was working fine for about 2 years tho? from 2004-2006.. and i'm sure it is a pace 2000, underneath it says 'model no: DiTV-2000'

is this useless in this area now then?

Which area are you in m8 and what Model is the box "Pace DITV2000 or Pace DITV2000T" ??

i'm in 41060 and the model number doesnt have a T on the end...

it seems like you are in EX C/W m8 and the box is for TW that's why it won't update, try and swap it with somebody that's in TW coz it will not work for you.
