just after it happens have a look in event viewer where you can view any errors that have occurred in applications or hardware etc.

Try booting up in safe mode, hit the F8 key on boot up and select safe mode, this starts the laptop without the drivers.
If he can use it lioke this then try removing drivers that usually cause this problem, starting with the graphics display driver.

hi guys, thanks for your replys. after it crashed again i went into the event viewer and there were several errors in it but im not sure what to do next. also i dont know how to get rid of drivers. i got into safe mode and went to device manager but not sure what to do next.
im starting to think its heat related because it works for a good half hour then it crashes but if you leave it to cool down it works fine again.

Hi, have you tried to clean the heatsink? Some laptops have a removable cover to aid the cleaning.

As you can appreciate, if the heatsink is clogged up with dust and fluff, heat is not going to get dissipated.

Some recommend vacuum cleaning the exhaust, use at your own risk!
