Default Actuator advice

I have a 12" actuator on polar mount (dish is 1.2m), i can get 30e -30w before i run out of travel, if i get an 18" actuator will this give me more travel and 45e -45w?. theres room between dish and mount for the extra movement.

yes a bigger actuator will allow more each side but you might be able to get more out of your current motor by altering the position of it on the polar mount.
