Default over flashing

Hello again,

Looks like I'm having more fun tinkering about with this box than watching tv. Will regularly re-flashing reduce the life of my box??

Flash chips do have a finite life when it comes to re-program cycles !

Most manufacturers will give you on the datasheet the average no of cycles before failure - usually somewhere between 1000 and 100,000 reprograms.

For specific details, you would have to take note of the flash chip type in your box and find the corresponding manufacturers datasheet.

Haha nice one. No, you won't hurt your box flashing it often mate. I used to flash mine all the time just to get used to doing it, I must have done it about 25 times lol.

Just wait until you start using them to develop stuff - 25 times a day would be more like it
