i,ve got so far and just cant seem to get online with my modem im new to all this so could someone please help.i get to here>>>>>>>>>>>>

Acquire Downstream ChannelDoneObtain Upstream ParametersDoneUpstream RangingDoneEstablish IP ConnectivityIn ProgressRetrieve Time of DayWaitingNegotiate securityWaitingReceive configurationWaitingRegister connectionWaitingCable modem statusRanging Complete

and then after a while it just reboots and then starts all over agen i bought the chip pre programmed with hex installed it followed tut on here for setup could someone please point out what im doing wrong............

Looks like you're forcing or autoserving an unsuitable config. Stop it.

I suspect your getting a "Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request..." in the error log

change your mac address and don't force or use a config like sr20 said
