Default Scrambled channels

Hi Guys,

Newbie here so please be gentle.

Got VM installed today and hooked up my Eurovox Ex1000SL, done all the scans and things and found loads of channels. But when I started to flick through the channels nearly all of them were scrambled.

I done a search and on another site (not a patch on this site may I add) and someone said that Eurovox boxes are now no longer of any use and there will not be an update for them.

Is this correct? Please tell me I am wrong.

Cheers.

Its a new Eurovox box and you've only just had VM installed right, so if you're only getting the Free to Air Channels, and you want all the others, then you need to flash your Eurovox with modified firmware.. There's loads of tutorials and posts on this site to help you..

If the correct firmware has been installed on the box no codes should need to be entered.

I dont know what version of firmware i am using.

Might it just be a case of flashing my box as nibblitz suggests?

If its never been flashed then its most probably got the original on it, which will only give you Free to Air channels..

On the remote, go into "MENU-CONFIG-System Information" and read out the date.. If its dated before December 2008 then you need to flash it..

you need to follow andybrocks advice and you'll need thisEurovox - Folder Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage
go into ex1000 folder and you want 24/2 firmware. if you havent got a null modem cable(RS232) you'll need one of them as well.
