You also need to remember the forum history - the sat lads came from a very successful forum called sat help which was bigger than TW. They merged 18 months ago and you are trying to weld two completely different topics together. The gulf between the two topics is impossible to bridge due the the natures of cable & sat - Im afraid theres always going to be some friction - we just have to make sure it doesnt boil over too often.

Theres absolutely no hobby element to cable related tv reception - you get whats squirted down a cable at you - theres no way to stretch your equipment further by connecting it to another input. Satellite has a technical aspect - can you get summat new by pointing a dish in a different direction when the moon is in its third quadrant and theres an R in the month - you can always try it and see. Even if you fail you have learned something new.

We all hate these posts, and I agree that the posts should be deleted and the poster banned.

My hobby is learning, so I've got to disagree on this one, also there's Modems as well as TV

I've been thinking about having a look into Satellite, so you may be getting a "Please Help Me" thread. lol

Either way i'm sure you'll all be pleased to hear that in the interests of diplomacy i have given up modding on this forum, as i feel i would have done something that i would have later regretted

OK its wrong to label the whole community with the same brush, but as stated before all the problems i have had when i modded on this forum were 95% from the cable side not the sat side

Anyway, i'm just an ordinary member now and i won't be around as much as i used to be and i will be staying out of the cable sections as lets face it, I have no interest in cable and i no longer need to police the cable sections.

I think the future is going to be interesting for both cable and satellites sections so hopefully there will be no hard feelings and hopefully everyone will put all this behind them, myself included

There's a lot of newbees posting in the wrong section, including quite a few "How do I get free Sky" posts in the cable section.

There are probably more "Cable" members than "Satellite" members, especially after a cable key change when the active "Cable" members would outnumber "Satellite" members 100 to 1 when there is a huge problem with people finding the site from a Google search and posting "Help me" demands in multiple sections without reading first which is enough to p**s off even the most patient mod.

The site can work, we ask all members to read the rules and be civil and most importantly post in the correct section
