niblitz - cheers for the reply

ive just tried plugging it in dirctly to the line into my living room and ut definitely didnt make it any better. Presumably then the splitter is not a duff and the signal coming in is not too weak.

I cant say the signal got noticably worse, but maybe virg*n have started pumping extra signal down the wires to me for some reason... trying an attenuator is probably worth a go. I'm no expert, but I'm guessing one of these would do the trick? Aerial Attenuators : Aerial Adaptors : Maplin For want of a better word, what "strenth" attenuator would you recommend?

Thanks

P

Hi mate I also own a 1000sl and this started happening a while ago while I was watching Jetix..... (with my nephew, honest ). I flashed to the latest, tested using a direct feed but nothing happened. Some channels work ok like ESPN or Comedy Central, but i get like 100 TvCH channels that dont show or are heavily pixalted.

My friend lives like a mile away and I tested the box at his house and all is good. I think I might need a booster. Let us know how you get on with the attenuator

EDIT:

I've had an email off someone who sells the ex 1000sl and he's had quite a few back with the same problem and the video chip has gone which basically means if you can't get hold of a new board then you'll need a new unit
According to a fellow poster maybe the video chip has gone? Ive had the box for around 7 months

Both a weak signal and an overly strong signal will cause the problems you are having (i think), get yourself an attenuator and a booster and trial n error the solution

yeah will do that Boonaldo. Going to try a booster first as I get alot of channels on TvCH that have fluctuating signals.
