Default fifa 09 port forwarding help

i get constant lag spikes on fifa 09 on the ps3, i have no router its plugged in direct too my modem how do i open the ports for my modem it is a surfboard motorola SB4100.

There aren't any "ports" to open on a modem. Are you downloading files and browsing the internet at the same time as playing online? What speed is your connection?

i have 10mb boardband with virgin, it lags ready bad on both ps3 and xbox 360,

yea, i have too get connected, but when connected it lags on both xbox live and ps3 online.
