Default Installing gemini/ccam on dreambox 600 pvr

Hi all i just want to know how to install gemini/ccam images onto dreambox 600 pvr?

ive heard all this talk of cross over cables etc........

i have a toshiba laptop and i dont think it has a null modem connection so can someone give me an idiots guide

Flash the Gemini image onto your dreambox using a program called Dreamup. If your box is a clone than make sure you do not flash a version later than 4.2. You can download and install CCcam from the Gemini image server.

Be very careful which firmware you flash. Flash the wrong one and you will end up with a dreambox sized brick. I would consider an image other than Gemini if I were you.

As far as cables go a crossover cable is an ethernet cable but instead of the pins being connected sr8 thru, pairs 2+3 are crossed over and are designed for one device direct to another, rather than via a router. You can aslo get a USB to RS232 cable, though they can be problematic.
