Hi All,
Im having a problem with a dell, mainly as follows... On power up all seems ok, reaches XP start up screen, blue sreen and re-boots .... over and over and over. Any help much appreciated Thanks Taz |

try and boot up from your recovery disk m8, that should sort it out.

do you have any xp installer disk? if not press F8 on boot up and then choose SAFE MODE, if you manage to log in again do system restore to an earlier date when it was working ok.

Hi,
Thanks for info - im too late, formated hdd and trying to install new copy of windows. If anyone has a copy og recovery disc I would gladly pay Thanks Taz |

To format the hard drive you must have windows installer disk and if you do have the disk then you woulkd've followed the steps and save the partition you wanted to log on to, never mind what's done is done m8.
Ps: 1) why do you want to buy a copy of windows?? 2) what are you using to format the hard drive??

I have seen this a number of times before - the cure:
Put Windows xp disk in the cd (set pc to boot from cd) accept the chance to repair you will get a command prompt type chdsk /r Note this may take some time to complete (hours) Apologies if I am too late
