Default Dbox2 remote control problem

I bought a brand new remote about a month ago and it suddenly stopped working - i put brand new duracell batteriees in it yesterday and still no luck - with the new batteries in it works some time but then stops and you have to press the buttons really hard - then other times ift just fails to work at all. Then ther are times when only the OK button works and none of the others work - really irritating- is there a fix for this or simply to buy another remote?

I reckon you do need to buy yourself another remote, but first try some new batteries again. If this doesnt sort out the problem, then when you do get a new remote, remember not to press any buttons hard-the buttons are soft for a reason

you can make sure it is the remote if you have a camera phone switch the camera on phone then point the led on remote at the camera lense then press the buttons looking at the camera you will see it light up if working

wow that is a neat trick - i tried it and these are the buttons that dont light the remote led up when looking at it through phone camera:
the 'dbox', 'home' 'power', right arrow key, all of the number keys, the '?' 'red' 'yellow'

all other buttons work - so i dont understand what the problem is with the remote. Why could this be? I dont think anything has been spilt on it but it has been dropped on the floor a few times. could this be the reason why? Any help, advice?
