Default help with updating cards on chipped pace boxes

hi all this is my 1st post and i was just looking for a bit advice or help,i used to have someone who updated my cards when they went down but he has since moved away,last time they went down (which was just the boxes he had done for me not the whole area) he said cards had expired,i thought he might have done this to get another £20 out of me and the rest i had bought off him for family and freinds easy £200 for him not sure,but mrs bumped into him and he said boxes were due to go down next week hmm ,cant remember if it was same time last year but quite possible, what i was wondering is can i do this myself and are there any tuts about what i need and what i have to do, i have done dbox2 and dreambox 500c but i am guesing this is a wee bit more complicated any help would be great many tx

Yes you can do it your self, you will need a Card programmer, Box Key & IRD, if you are doing funcard that’s all you would need but if you are doing Mosc Card (original card) that could be locked then you will need to unlock it by buying the unlooper plus a lot of reading through the forum for more info.

It also depends on which boxes you have, If its a pace box or a sammie 2100 then your good to use funcard's. If it's a sammie 2110c the card has to be paired to the box, otherwise its only good as a doorstop. Some people can put dates on the boxes to go down at certain times in order to make a few more pennies yes.

Regards

N*L & TW cards are the original card as well as the one for your area C\W, he changed them so he can control the expiry date that’s why he knew when they need updating, the thing is he might have put a blocker on the card so that you won’t be able to read it though a card programmer, if that is the case you will have to get an unlooper to open the card, or if you have the Box Key and the IRD you can do a funcard which is easier and does not need unlooping.

This is a link for the download section on this forum;
Cable TV Backup - Folder Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

You will need to find Cable for dummies, it is the best guide you can get to start with it covers almost everything, there are Tuts for Samsung & Pace there too have a good read then come back with load of questions , it is important to know the Make & Model Number of the boxes you have so peeps can help you.
