is the box your dad has in the house at the min whether the bloke has taken the card or not is it being piaded for i.e monthly,or was the contract cancelled if this is the case dont worrie mate just make sure the bloke cuts the talkback,
now if the box is still being paided for if its only the min channels and of course you will now get all channels do not get the talk back cut,
now the other box the bloke is selling to your dad dont worrie about that at all just make sure you ask has talk back been cut but there is a way to tell

dont get worried i havent been doing boxs for long but ather great help by guys on this site you cant go wrong,just remember rule no1 never ever touch a subbed box but if its been done by the bloke i would say not cut talk back and your box wont fall of the rader but dont take the **** and order ppv stuff either

A subbed box is the box given by Virgin Media right?

Basically I am under contract with Virgin Media. They gave me a box when they came to set it up aswell as the card in the box. The man has taken this card and says he will be able to make it so that when I put it back in the Virgin box it will show me all the channels.

Now there is another box he brought last time (he came before but couldnt set it up because I didnt have Virgin Media at the time). It is an Ntl box with a Virgin Media card inside and he said he would be able to set this up in another room aswell.

ok what is done is done,on your subbed box one your paying for (this is the box that the bloke has done the card for) dont get the talk back cut also alls not lost if he returns the card but you get a funcard ask for the org card back that way it will only show you the channels you pay for,the funcard will have the info on it to get all channels,but if he brings back the same card but now has info to get all channels no worrie no cut talk back and dont abuse it

now the other box that will be fine,infact you could buy wire and connecters from b&Q and install that your self just buy a spliter and save money lol
say you dont want the other box installed and do it your self in under 30mins

sound like that bloke is taking the **** with them fees you can buy a cable box for £20 -£40 online and parts to do it for £60 and these can reused many many times but thats if you ever wanna try

Sorry could you explain this again. Didnt quite understand it fully. I understand not to cut the talk back or tamper with the box in anyway.

hi what the bit highlighted,well in short when you get a card sorted,you will either get your org card back but hacked to watch all shows or you will get a funcard or atmega card with the hack to watch shows,now if you get a funcard or atmega card ask for the org card back as it was only used to get bk and ird,now if any trouble from virmin you can keep your org near the box and insert if ever needed

Peeps here only give a friendly WARNING to everyone about the subbed boxes, as long as you know the consequences you are free to do what you like m8, no mater how you put it it’s still looking for trouble, if you modified the original card that came with the box to see all the channels Virmin will find out through Talk Back, that’s why it’s called Talk Balk it reports everything back to them, if you sue funcard with your subbed box they will still find out same way through the Talk Back, the only way around it is to leave your subbed box alone connected as it supposed to and add a splitter to connect the other box or 2 or 3 but leave the subbed box with it’s card as they were when they came through the door, anyone can modified the original card for you but they are after the money only not bothered if you get caught or not, if you are cleaver m8 get your friend to lock the card as it was and put it back in the subbed box and leave it alone, go down to your local carboot and pick up a box for a £10 and mess about with it or get your m8 to do it for you...

Ok so that settles it. I will leave the original box the way it is and the put the original card back in.


What about the other ntl box with the Virgin card inside. Shall I tell him to set this one up? Or is it the same problem? Damn man...why didnt the guy just bring d-boxes round. Because another thing im concerned about is if im not happy with having him do my cable he may probably grass me up to Virgin Media about having dodgy cable if I get it set up by someone else.

That's good for you m8, you can do the other box and get all the channels with no worries, try to get him to lock the card as it was or get someone else to lock it for you, I think you can grass him up as much as he can but if you are too worried about him just don't deal with him and learn how to do it your self it's the best thing m8, saves you money and hessel.

Kool thanks for confirming I can do the ntl box. Looks like I have to wait for my turn to have cable in my room because my brother is adament he wants it in his room even though im paying the monthly subscription with my student loan (im the younger brother). But hopefully before long I will have the same in mine.

One more question. Do i have to make sure the talkback is cut in the ntl box or is it fine as is?
