Default extra cable boxes

currentley have 1 VM cable box and wanted to add a further 4 throughout the house, would the best way to do this be run a sat cable from each new point back to the original box and use a splitter / splitters? can i run 5 boxes from the one cable coming in or do i need some sort of amp.

I'm sure you can use 5 way spliter with no problems, there was a guy on here running 6 boxes using a spliter from one VM point, the only thing is if you need to update any of the boxes you will need to connected dirrect to the original VM cable.

Depending on your original input signal strength , You should be ok , But should you need to use a booster and are also using modems make sure you get a booster that has return path

Yes, signal strength will be affected if you use more boxes. You could always try a cable amplifier to boost the signal a bit.
