Hi all
My first thread so be patient, I,ve got a eurovox ex1000sl and all has been well for over a year the other day the picture went off but the sound was still there so re-flashed it with UFL_EX1000SL_24-02-09_DarX and it worked for an hour or so then the same again This time I flashed it with the older firmware UFL_EX1000SL_v1-0_DarX and did a full powerscan re sorted all the channels and again all was well for a couple of hours then the picture went off again Any Ideas thanks in advance stuart |

Hi
Yes I already checked that, but is does appear to be a scart type problem First of all i had it linked through my hdd dvd player when the fault started so I then linked the eurovox first then into the dvd player but this hasn't helped This morning i've connected the eurovox to a different tv direct scart link and it lasted about an hour till the picture went all over the place so turned it off the back on after a couple of minuted and so far so good I've also tried different scart leads but still the same problem I was wondering if virmin have sent some signal down the coax thats damaged the internals Do you think my box has died?? |

Dont sound very healthy does it.. Its such a small compact thing, no real airflow inside, you've had it over a year.. Its not caked in dust inside is it? Could try running a hoover pipe over the top grills and give it a nice suck (ooher) or better still, take the top off and lightly brush the dust out.. Ya never know, what with this really hot weather recently, and a years build up of dust, it might just be running too hot.. Just an idea.. Gotta be worth a shot..

I've got in bits now the problem with these is the are so light that the scart leads probably are heavier than the unit
The scart sockets do flex about a bit I'm going to try re do all the joints incase there is a dry joint Failing that i might take a scart lead to bits and hard wire one directly onto the board I don't think i've got much to loose as it definately isn't a firmware prob Any other ideas? I'm only concerned because i'm a MMA (UFC) fan and the virmin boxes don't have PPV I wish i kept my maxV now |

Just an update on the problem
I've had an email off someone who sells the ex 1000sl and he's had quite a few back with the same problem and the video chip has gone which basically means if you can't get hold of a new board then you'll need a new unit I might just box it up and seel as faulty on fleaby I hope this helps others with a simlar problem |
