Got a strange problem here! My modem connection is completely stable, using a 20mb mac! Thing is, say I download for like 20 minutes the speed will drop to like 2mb connection speed and will remain so until I reset the modem?
Can't for the life of me figure out whats wrong, I can still force in my area and even tried forcing a 20mb config file but same problem! Wondering if this is a common issue ATM? Thanks guy ps. did a search, found nada !

Yeh if you are hammering it you will definitely hit the traffic shaping. It's pretty low too, so if you are downloading at full speed you could well be hitting it.
Here are the solutions: stop downloading so much during the traffic shaping period, you can find the times by searching on the VM site or google. Alternatively, every time you hit the traffic shaping, change ur PC's MAC to get a new IP, and you will have the shaping reset. |

I don't think it's traffic shaping, I have a very similar problem with barely couple 100 mb on the counter. But mine would go down sooo low I can't even stream 128kb music without 10-15 secs buffer every 2 secs. It's worse when I'm openining new connections, if I've visited google, and some time later it starts going slow, google is still pretty quick, but other sites time out.
I didn't post this myself because I thought it was a personal problem, my power level is always around -15mb too:

My power levels seem fine murkle? Maybe try connecting directly to your feed without dig box etc? see how that fares?
As for the traffic share, it occurs when I download say a GB or 2 and plus the issue is reset upon me resetting the modem, which would give me a new IP and thus maybe you're right cockney sean lol will look into that more! might try a business config without traffic share... |

More likely is your modem is being detected as a clone, and is being allocated a **** COS as 'punishment'. Try changing your setup (firmware / MAC / settings / spoofing). sr20 |
