I guess since you can put the game on your hard drive you can use cheaper ones, i found Aones used to give a dirty disc error, i still remember the nightmares with gta4!

oh yes, pioneer, i think i have the 112d model, only set me back about £15

I agree, AOne dual layer discs are cheaper and they are perfect for XBox 360 backups .

your pioneer is that an external drive? if so how much you pay for it and where did you get it from, im doing research at the moment on what drive to get as i dont think mine is a dual layer, all the info i have is.. TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632D.. if anyone could help and tell me if thats a dual layer please? because i dont want to spend money out on a drive if i dont need one..

it looks like a single layer drive, usually it will have dl or dual layer on it somewhere, maybe on the front? if its dual layer, im sure if you try and put a dl disc in and burn a dual layer image it won't let you if its single...anyone confirm?

my drive is internal, but you can use it externally with the right equipment

If you put a dual layerer disc in the drive and it is only a single layer drive, it will not be read. If it does read and it is a DVD burner, there is a high chance it will burn dual layer discs. You need to make sure that your drive can bitset DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM so that the XBox 360's disc drive can read the disc as a game.

ok thanks, how can i bitset it to DVD-ROM?

I might aswell try the disc to see if it does work, if not i will just have to get an external dual layer writer, any suggestions on the cheap

Setting the Booktype with ImgBurn | Articles - Digital Digest

all you got to do is figure the manufacturer of your drive

it should tell you in system devices or maybe written on the front of your drive, if your drive isn't in imgburn, i doubt its supported for bitsetting
