Hi guys!
I've not posted in a while but I thought I'd post on Roger Federer's achievement of winning 15 slams. Now I realise that this is pretty phenomenal but I still do not belive all the hype around this guy...I mean, the way everybody goes on about him - I just don't see it. I actually believe he is a great player but to be the best you have to beat the best. However, Federer has failed to beat Rafa Nadal in 6 slams (5 finals and 1 SF). On the other hand, Nadal has beaten Federer in 5 finals out of the six he has won. He's also won 6 slams at the age of 22 - Federer had barely won his first slam at this age. I think that regardless of how Nadal's injuries hold up, as long as he's able to play at a high level of tennis for the next 3-4 years at least, he will get into double figures for slams and he will achieve the Grand Slam of winning on all four surfaces quicker than Federer managed. In my opinion, this will take him past Federer's achievements as I believe that Nadal has earnt his status as the best rather than beating less talented players in the way that Federer has. I think that Federer will be the best on paper with all the records etc but those that remember watching Nadal and Federer in the years to come will acknowledge that Nadal was the better player of the two. What do you guys think?

He does have the skill, drive and finesse, and his playing does display a seemingly effortless show, but I still don't warm to him,for some reason.
Maybe he appears too polished. Nadal has a long way to go to showase his true talent, but he does have youth on side, but only if he remains injury free, for the forseeable future, will he become a true legend,if he surpasses the record set by Federer. |

I think I'm the same as you sat world - I've just never warmed to Federer either...I don't really know why. I just think he's a bit arrogant with his OTT jackets whereas the likes of Nadal is so much more gracious in victory and defeat.
