Default 5100 PVR - Dreaded : Problem

Hi All,
I have just been given a box to fix with the dreaded : on the display.
I have read through various posts on this and have picked up the following.

1. May be a psu fault - I will try and replace psu first but if not succesful can I use the Max V jtag guide / info

2. Any other advice most welcome

Regards
Taz

Me Again,
Ok, tried spare psu board - still the same so im going to try JTag.
I have been reading various info and watched video guide, a few questions thoungh...
1. Am I correct in assuming that JKeys 1.3.3 , 2.9.11 and SkyMax do the same thing or do you have to use one after the other.
2. Even better can any of you nice peeps direct me to a idiots guide.

Thanks all
Taz

They all do the same thing and you only need to use one, use JKeys 2.9.11, if this does not work try JKeys 1.3.3.

Not sure which "Video" guide you mean but I put together a couple of guides called "Jtag How To" and "JKeys 2_9_11" dig them out if you have not done so already.

You say you now have two flashing dots after changing the power board, were these not present before that?

Have you tried pressing the reset button on the main board and reloading the UFL software??

Lets know how you get on and I'll see if I can help.

Think you'll struggle to locate the 5100 tsop unless you can find someone that will dump it from their box.
The EX5000 tsop is here posted by satsmo, i would imagine you'll have more luck with this than the maxV tsop.

Yeh the PVR is missing the large diode and also has the HD connected to another block.

If the HD board is in the way just lift it up and off, it can be replaced after Jtagging. I answered the diode/power question in the other post.
