hi i have just got a hold of one on these boxes off a friend a was just wondering if i need to do much to get it modded i have checked what the card status is and it says: No-Tstream thts with the card out and the live feed not connected is there any thing tht can be done with this boxs thanks

No T-Stream is being displayed because you haven't connected the feed. You can mod this box, you will need an unlooper and a Phoenix card programmer to mod the card so that you get all the channels and you will also need to cut talkback. If the box isn't from your area, it can only be reset by lifting a chip I think as their is no known button combination to reset this box.

it is from my area telewest. so do i not need to open the box up or anything like the guides say as i have the orginal card?

Telewest has many different Net IDs, do you get freeview (load up the box without the card in and check)? Yes, you will have to open the box to cut the talkback or you could use 50db noise filter instead.

yes i get the free channels.
50db noise filter could i buy one of these from maplens?
then would i just have to re-write the card to get the rest of the channels ?
very new to all this sorry

If your getting only FTA channels only with card inserted chances are your card has been hit with the dreaded BK and the box has been rendered free-view only. I wouldn't go buying a return path filter yet mate. I'm not too familiar with the 4000 but i am pretty sure it's a chip lift job to retrieve BK & IRD now , Maybe fellow members could confirm this?

yeah, if card has been deactivated, you need to lift the 256 chip in location u50, the bk is directly after the ird in the dump

Your BK will start with 6D 56 once you read it (after it has been unlooped).
