Hi my eurvox recently broke I was gonna through the channel listings and it frooze comepletley turning it off from the remote did nothing and the buttons on the front were rendered unless aswell. I then took out the psu from the back and reentered it and it now no longer works. It is strange in that my tv recognizes that something is on and changes to the corrent input but there is no picture. The box also clearly turns on as you can hear the components however no there is nothing on the display to suggest life. Do i need to replace it? or is this a known problem that can be repaired? and if so is it a job that I could do or is there someone on here that could do it for a fee cause im guessing that would be cheaper than a brand new box. Anyway thanks for ur answers ill check back on this in a few days

Have a look at the power board mate , Most eurovox problems relate to blown or bulging capacitors. This could be a few quid fix by replacing faulty capacitors.

Can yer be more specific, if yer need us to help yer to diagnose the prob ur havin'. If yer got a looose conection to the psu then simply give it a waggle at the back when it's plugged in and if yer get some lights on then yer need a new cable to the supply. Next question 2, when yer say components turn on, wot do yer mean!, if I am correct in thinking that yer mean green lights are on, or the 2 dot syndrome is showin' then it's not a psu issue. If question 2 is putting lights to yer lcd display then it's either jtag time or a chip on second board is shagged. And finaly I have noticed that a lot of the ex500 are prone to blowin a chip on second board. So if yer gettin a display on yer lcd then it's jtag time or a shagged out chip on yer second board. Jam

If you can get another PSU it will be a simple repair which u can carry out yourself. If any of the Cap's are bulging u can try and solder new caps in place and that may sort problem out. If not u can send ur PSU to Jambutty and he can test and repair for you as his good with things like that. It does sound like the PSU is faulty.
