If you can boost the signal and keep the noise down, you could run 10's or even 100's of boxes on a single feed. The trick is keeping the signal to noise ratio good.

Which is actually pretty difficult for a large No of loads unless you start going to a lot of expense. Every extra connection introduces noise as do amplifiers etc.
The recommended max load for the system is 4 loads per tap although VM have a recommendation of no more than 3 working loads. For 4 loads, you will likely need to start using an amplifier unless you have a particularly strong signal level, especially if you are using one of the "weaker" tuner boxes (dreambox etc). To sucessfully use an amplifier then your snr needs to be pretty reasonable to start with. |

My cable box upstairs works really well but thru the splitter i cant get my modem to upstream although it locks onto downstream. I think i need a booster with upstream like the Konig yellow brick but its too much for £30? Is there any other booster that supports upstream? It used to work really well before but just stopped all of a sudden. It does go through 2 splitters before that hence the loss in signal im guessing.
