Default newbie questions

Hi to all and thank you for letting me part of the forum. I am considering the Skystar hd 2 card and connecting to the sky dish for the time being. Until i get used to using it. here are a few questions.

Do i need the CI card to go with it. and if not straight away what benefit would i get from it.
What size dish would be best. and motor to go with it. considering running from computer.
Willl the software that comes with the card do all i need or should i opt for dvbviewer or similar.

Thanks in advance.........
