hi guys my friend has moved into a new house and they only have sky connections and no VM as the street has only been recently built. How would we go about this what would i need?

Yes it's called a Sky box, you can even get HD and Sky+ for recording one channel while viewing another, but you will have to pay the subscription.
Sky satellite is secure, as Analoguesat says If you want it you have to pay. There is one way to get it, but even then someone has to have a legitimate subscription, and that is with a Linux based receiver and a process known as card sharing, something I am not about to discuss as it's illegal. Plus Sky are changing their cards, possibly in an attempt to negate these practises, and I'm not sure if the new cards can be used in this way yet. |

Of course, you can also buy a Freesat receiver, and get all the Freesat channels, including a couple of HD channels with a HD receiver like the Humax HDR or Foxsat.
