Vauxhall Vectra 2.0dTi - engine management light?
I have a 2002 (02 plate) Vectra 2.0dTi estate and just recently the engine management light (dashboard light in the shape of an engine) has been coming on when I stop at lights, junction, roundabout etc. But then goes off soon after pulling away again and the revs are raised.
So far I have never noticed it coming on whilst drving at constant speed. If it has it must have done so quickly and gone off again before I've noticed.
On Saturday whilst in York, I noticed a tiny loss of power whilst the light was on (pulling away in 1st gear), but nothing too significant it's always sluggish (these diesels are) when pulling away regardless of the light but as soon as it had gone off the car drove well again.
What could this be?
I have had the car for 4 years and it has never given me any trouble - I hope this is not the start of things to come???!!!
In the Vectra owners manual with the car, it does say that if the light comes on and goes off again soon after IT IS OF NO SIGNIFICANCE.
Since I've had the car the light always came on when first starting her up, but always went off when I pulled away. Until now, it had never come on whilst the engine was on!!!
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance.
