250configurator guide.
once your Ambit250 has had the firmware flashed sucessfully its time for you to input your area settings this is made easy with Boltars 250configurator App.
Also the 250configurator Requires the following 2 microsoft application's to run correctly:
1. Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
2. Microsoft Visual J# Version 2.0 Redistributable Package
CONNECTION.
you can either use a max232/233 cable through your COM Port or ethernet cable through Telnet.

list ove the area details you'll need:
1.A Valid Mac Address
2.Tuner Type
3.Annex Mode
4.Downstreem Freq
5.Config File
6.Tftp Server IP
7.Admin Status is always 3
8.Max DL Tries is always 4
Force Cfg is Ticked
Telnet Enabled well thats up to you
some area settings.
NTL:
cm_tuner 19
cm_annex_3 for pure sometimes only if annex_b don’t work
ds_frequency 402750000

CW:
annex_a
cm_tuner 19
ds_frequency 586750000

TW:
cm_tuner 19
annex_b
ds_frequency 331000000

GETTING STARTED.
now you have your area details , MAC and your Tftp Server IP lets get started.
1.Connect all cables up and power up modem
2.Click either Telnet or select serial & com port

3.now click Connect and once connected enter all of your area settings
DO NOT CLICK FORCE CONFIG OR PUT IN A TFTP IP LEAVE THEM BLANK

4.once all boxs are filled in and ticked , press on Write Settings
now the app will write your settings to modem and disconnect

5.thats it Reboot modem...

<<<INFO>>>
if you find your modem wont come online and your area has upgraded to 20megs dont for get you'll have to input the bpi CMDs in Telnet.
bpi cmd.
1.stop channel scan with this cmd first
Code:
cd \cm_hal
scan_stop
cd \ (press enter)
2.now enter the bpi cmd
Code:
cd non-vol
cd docsis
enable bpi false
write
Reboot modem...

if all has gone well youll get these results on your modems internal web page [http://192.168.100.1/]

----------------------------------------------------------------

Also updating to hax will work alot better

Look in the Private FTA section, there is a link to a download section at doinit4thelulz.co.uk or just go direct to the site. There is everything you need for your modem there.

No, if you already have a shelled firmware on it, as it seems that you do, all you need is the Haxorware firmware, TFTPD32, and putty or hyperterminal.

If you download Haxorware from Haxorware.com the RAR file includes the instructions to do it through telnet with putty or hyperterminal.

All you have to do is start up TFTPD and put the firmware's bin file in its root directory, then use the commands that are given in the text files that accompany the Haxorware download in the RAR file.

But I will say it is always handy to have a MAX232 cable just in case you get any more modems in the future that require it.

Seriously mate, I don't want to be a moaning minnie, but if you followed my advice about reading the upgrade text file that comes with Haxorware, it doesn't get much simpler. I have taken the time to get it for you, take a read:

Set your computers ip to 192.168.100.10
Set up a TFTP server with haxorware11rev32.bin in its root
Make sure the haxorware webgui isn't currently open
Connect to modem with hyperterminal or telnet to the IP 192.168.100.1
Enter your username and password
cd /ip
ipconfig 1 release
y
dload -i 1 -l -f 192.168.100.10 haxorware11rev32.bin
y
cd /
reset

Thats all you have to do to upgrade from your current shelled firmware. Just telnet into the modem and run the commands.
