Default Virgin looking to upgrade XXL package upload speed to 10MB!

Thought id share something I saw on ITportal site:

"Virgin Media is also looking to dramatically increase the upload speed of its XXL/50mbps package to up to 10mbps, which is around eight times what most ADSL broadband lines can achieve and is equivalent to the download speed of its entry level 10mbps service."

And theyve cut the price on the package too. Even though Ive had it when it launched - now I think it'l be worth it.

The fact they are testing new configurations doesn't mean they are planning to actually implement them.

Historically VM tend to implement speed tiers that are only 1/4 of the tested speeds, So, in this case, I'd expect a general release of somewhere around the 2.5Mbit/sec mark on the 50Meg package or possibly the release of a 100Mbit/sec package with 2.5Mbit/sec upload.

Its also possible that the added upload will be a value added extra to the 50Meg package - possibly £5-£10 per month on top of the base pack price.

I'd be very suprised if upload ever changes on the 20Meg and lower tiers.
