Yeah happens to me too. But if I log in the pop up rather than the usual spot in the top right corner it goes back to the reply allowing me to carry on. If you log in in the usual spot it loses it and you have to start over.

Thanks fj1200.
I think that sometimes I am missing the popup because I am using a netbook with a 10 inch screen. It is probably off screen, and am not always spotting it.

Just remembered.
Part of the problem is.
I am logged on properly. But by the time I have composed my reply for some season when I post the reply I am logged off.
Admittedly it takes me sometime to compose a reply. 'recovering from a stroke so one finger typing'.
Do's TW log you off after a while of inactivity

Hi

An interesting questions happens to me as well and get really frustrated in fact happend to me about 15 mins ago after a long reply, lost my reply then you can never get second reply same as the first. thought it just happens to me so would like to know too.

Im sure I think its when there has been no activity on main forum for 10/15 mins then it logs you out so you must be able to change the logout delay time in user settings. Will look now.

Regards

Yes the most frusrtating thing is that I spend a lot of time trying to give a good reply, then loose it.
The second attempt is never as good, and tends to be short

I keep telling myself to copy the text so that I can paste it back if the worst happens. But of coarse I write the reply, and without thinking press the quick reply button.

It's a good job that I cut my hair at number 3 otherwise I would be pulling it out.

them. problem with attachments recently. But I think that it has been fixed now.

Edit. Do you mean edit your replies.
If so I think that there is now a time limit of 40 minutes to edit past replies.

Logging off problems are usually a cookie issue - do you have any security restrictions in your browser for the forums?

If not, it can sometimes take a couple of logins to stay logged in - make sure you use the box at the top right and select to stay permanently logged in.

Regarding lost replies - unfortunately something common across all platforms - always a good idea to CTRL+A then CTRL+C to highlight all then copy all, before pressing send. I learned to have to do that using Microsift groups many years ago.

Thanks,brian.
I find that I often get logged off after a while .
Rightly or wrongly I think that I should be logged on when I am online to techwatch., and logged off when I am not.
An old fasiond idea perhaps.
Even though I do not see the point .I will try the permenently logged on option.

Just had to log on again to post this.
