Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone can help me.
We have just had our VM speed upgrade. I have a wired network in the house and out of the 4 computers, they all report 10Mbps on a speedtest. (BBMax) This one however, can only manage 5Mbps. I have tried installing the latest driver for my NIC, but no change. I will try another LAN cable tomorrow, but can anyone think of a cause for this other than a possibly dodgy cable? Thanks. |

Thanks for the link but when I saved the 50MB file, I didnt see any progress meter, it just came. Saying that, I stupidly clicked on it first so I suppose it would have already been in the cache. Still no progress meter on that though.
What I have done, even though it's late, is moved my PC to another (shorter) cable. The missus was playing some crappy game on facebook, but the BBMax test reported 96xxMbps, so thats basically proved I have a dodgy LAN cable. Its a bit over long to be honest so I'll be getting a new 7m one made next week. LOL, I may even find cat chomps in it when I pull it out. Many thanks for your reply though, and fast, cheers.
