Guys is there any update on this. I've seen the news that virgin are supposed to have started the ESPN service on August 3rd, is anyone watching it on their DB yet?

I've been running the "Quavis" hacked version of Andromeda for a long time now and not had any troubles, but I seem to remember when scanning for channels etc in the past I managed to accidentally shaft my bouquet/channel lists. What is the "safe" way to scan for new channels without it reorganising my channels into a mess?

On my remote I can press "Dbox" then "service" and get presented with a few options, one of which is "Service Scan". I guess I need to go into that, but can anyone confirm what I should specifically select to make sure I don't ruin my channel lists again?

bouquets - leave current

best to save ur bouquets and service files to pc before scanning just to make sure....

GO TO SCAN FOR SERVICES


PRESS OK BUTTON UNTILL IT CHANGES TO ALL SERVICES


NOW GO DOWN TOO BOUQUET


PRESS OK UNTILL IT SAYS LEAVE EXISTING/CURRENT !! THIS IS IMPORTANT !!


CABLE PROVIDER SHOULD BE CableUK Sym6887 is for NTL(VIRGIN) and CableUK Sym6952 is for TW (telewest/C AND W)


IF NOT CLICK OK UNTILL IT DOES


SCROLL DOWN TO FAST SCAN AND CHOOSE OFF


WHEN THIS IS ALL DONE GO DOWN TO START SCAN AND CLICK OK


LEAVE THE BOX TOO IT AND IT WILL SEARCH OUT ANY CHANNELS AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA


WHEN IT IS DONE AND IT TAKES A WHILE! TURN OFF YOUR DBOX AND RESTART IT.


WHEN THE BOX REBOOTS THE CHANNELS SHOULD ALL BE THERE READY FOR VIEWING, GIVE YOUR BOX A LITTLE TIME TO PULL IN THE EPG and decode the channels AS IT CAN TAKE 10 MINUTES TO DO THAT.


Leave the dbox on discovery or any pay channel, it will be blank at first (leave 10 mins)


You box has been fully tested and sent out showing all channels in my area!


Doing a scan is crucial to get all the channels available in your area!!


PLEASE NOTE:: I CAN ONLY RETURN YOUR DBOX TO THE STATE IT WAS IN BEFORE VIRGIN MADE THEM GO BLANK, IF YOUR DBOX WASN’T WORKING BEFORE THAT THEN THE FLASHING FEE IS STILL PAYABLE!!

Try not to play and alter any settings as this can corrupt the dbox


pressing the ok button and clicking left and right on the big round pad brings up your channels in categories! This is a unique feature only we add to dboxes. German/ebay boxes do not have this feature.


Please note this image has a self updating feature so after this scan you will never need to scan again ! check the new channels/unsorted section from time to time for any new channels available.


Warning brute force/allukscan can scramble your channel listings!!!!

Press green button choose second option


Pressing blue button brings up some other toys, tv on lcd etc


For games press dbox button then scroll down to games, play chess etc.

WHEN YOU FIRST TURN ON YOUR DBOX AFTER FLASHING IT WILL NEED A LITTLE TIME TO SET ITSELF UP IN YOUR AREA.


PUT IT ON DISCOVERY SCIENCE FOR INSTANCE (PAY CHANNEL) AND LEAVE IT FOR TEN MINUTES, ONCE THE CHANNEL STARTS WORKING THAT’S THE DBOX SORTED ITSELF OUT (YOU WONT NEED TO DO THIS AGAIN).


IF YOU GET NARRATION/audio description ON ANY CHANNELS PRESS THE GREEN BUTTONON REMOTE, CHOOSE SECOND OPTION, press ok.


THIS TURNS OFF THE DESCRIPTION AND THE DBOX WILL REMEMBER THIS FOR THAT CHANNEL ONLY


OTHER CHANNELS WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED AS YOU FIND THEM.

PRESS THE OK BUTTON AND THEN LEFT OR RIGHT ON THE ROUND PAD,


TO FIND THE CHANNELS IN CATEGORIES,


PRESS UP DOWN ON THE PAD THEN OK WHEN YOU FIND THE CHANNEL YOU WISH TO VIEW.


PRESS DBOX BUTTON ON REMOTE AND SCROLL DOWN TO GAMES.


DEPENDING ON YOUR DBOX YOU WILL HAVE A FEW GAMES TO PLAY WITH IN THIS SECTION.

PRESS THE BLUE BUTTON ON REMOTE AND TRY THE TV ON LCD,


WATCH THE LITTLE GREEN LCD ON DBOX FOR THE TV PICTURE!


YOU CAN ONLY GET OUT OF THIS BY PRESSING THE HOME BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE.

NOW SOME DBOXES ARE FUSSIER THAN OTHERS,


IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY FREEZING THEN THERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO CHECK,


FIRSTLY CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS ARE GOOD AND TIGHT, ANY PARTLY TIGHTENED CONNECTIONS WILL AFFECT THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURE AS WELL AS CAUSE FREEZING AND CHIRPING!


IF THE FREEZING IS ERRATIC, CHECK THE LITTLE CABLE BOX ON THE WALL.


IN THE OLD DAYS OF CABLE THE CABLE COMPANY HAD A LARGE GREY ANALOGUE SPLITTER IN THERE THAT DEGRADES THE SIGNAL TO YOUR DBOX.


REMOVE THAT AND REPLACE IT WITH A STRAIGHT THROUGH F-PLUG ADAPTER.


ALSO MAKE SURE ANY SPLITTERS ARE THE NEWER SMALLER DIGITAL ONES.


AND THAT’S ABOUT IT, ENJOY THE DBOX AND ALL THE CHANNELS YOU HAVE.


ANY PROBLEMS JUST EMAIL ME AND ILL HELP YOU SORT IT.
