Hey guys,

My modded box has been working beautifully for a few months. Recently its become sluggy - ive noticed that when i playback some recorded programs and forward, the box becomes unresponsive and forces me to stop playback. Once stopped, normal viewing returns and everythign works fine. The problem seems to be with playbacks. The HDD is not full.

Now this morning I've got another problem. The box just keeps rebooting. LED says PL:01 then goes back to BOOT and just keeps doing that in a never ending cycle.

Any idea what's happening please gents?

I've read elsewhere that a reformat may be needed. But any ideas how I can do this please?

doesnt sound too good. you need to have the box booted to format the hd.

what happens when you dissconect the hd and try to boot??

Hi mate,

Ive not disconnected the HD. SHould I do that and try to boot?

So far I have taken the card out and booted and still same cycle. Ive also took signal out and tried to boot same problem.

Should i disconnect the HDD and try to reboot?

Sh*t - I don't have a tool to unscrew the middle screw on the back. It's a different screw to each side of the back.

Any idea what tool is needed?

they should all be the same, its a tork

In fact I got it undone.

And with the HDD cable unplugged the box is working!!!

So Anyways I can format this drive at all?

If its 3.5" ill just put it in my PC and format the fecker.

Also is there a limit to what size HDD i can put in? If not, I might as well pump[ it up to an extra Terabyte.
