i agree with badboy_uk netgear is the best. I have one and never have a problem with it disconnecting or anything. I have always used netgear. i recommend this one, it uses the latest N technology and offers a good wireless coverage Netgear N Netgear Wireless N Router Wireless N Router - Buy cheap Netgear N DSL wireless routers at PC World

I take it none of the above decreases your dl speed any compared to being jacked straight into PC from modem?
Cheers for suggestions so far guys. Last edited by Notthisagain; 20-07-09 at 03:17 PM. |

No.. none of them will decrease your d/l speed mate! if you live in a big house and don't want to use wireless you could use power over ethernet adapters, they use your house wiring as network cable, mine are very quick and work perfect.. thats probably a little off topic, but could be a suggestion

M8 head over to DD-WRT :: News check out the supported devices and pick one that either runs standard or mega this will increase the avalable features on your router 10 fold and is really easy to flash. If you can still get it the linksys wrt54gs v1.1 runs ddwrt mega and gives you a massive array of features. alternatively anything that will run this firmware is a winner

Yeah its increadibly usefull previously the stock firmware of my router kept dropping connections when I flashed to this they all went away. Try and stay away from anything that will only run mini or micro builds as there not as gr8 but standard or mega have a whole host of features from vlans + VPN's to wireless bridges and more plus the ability to turn up the wireless transmit power!
