here is just a useful website i came across one day. its basically a site that gives you all the alternative numbers for those nasty 0870 and 0845 numbers.
as you are aware 0845 and 0870 cost something like 10p per minute which can mount to quite a large sum if you on the phone long. so yea next time you need to call a 0845 or 0870 number for example calling the dvla then check out this website it lists loads of 0800 numbers and the cheaper rate numbers like 0208, 0120, 03 etc. ok here it is enjoy hxxp://www.saynoto0870.com/ replace xx with tt as usual. |

Do you know that the government actually make money off your phone calls when you call those number? I know its nought to do with cable but thats a very sweet site man, thanks. For example, when I phone telephone banking, I look on their site for the international access number so that its just a normal "old fashioned" land line number without the so called local rate charges. What is worse, that they are far from local rate when calling from a mobile, and cannot be included in your free minutes. |

Thanks Ant16151189 for that info. Today I could call HM Revenue & Customs and it lasted for 18 mins. I could have curved out UKPound 14.4 for that. Thanks a lot. Really appreciate |

This is what I use for calling 0800 numbers from my mobile:
http://www.0800buster.co.uk/ and when an 0800/local number is not available, then I use http://www.18185.co.uk/index2.php On the mobile, I stood to be charged 41p/min to call the NHS direct number but with 18185, I'll get charged 3p/min and they'll take the money out of my bank by the end of the month. I was on the phone for about 3 minutes or so, so for 9p it's not bad
