HMRC scam

anyone receiving an email that appears to be from these people, saying that you are entitled to a tax rebate, BEWARE, its a scam. it looks like an official website and tells you the amount you will be receiving, then gives you a list of banks. when you pick your bank, it will take you straight to your log in page, it tells you that the money will be in your account within one week. if you log in you are giving them your details... so DONT. the hmrc are doing all they can to nip this in the bud. so be very weary. the sly b******s

Yes, this has been doing the rounds for a few years now - don't click on the links in the email:

Remember, a genuine email will probably address you by name - phishing emails, by their mass targeting, almost never mention your name or any other identifying details, because they simply do not have them.
