Looks like a great app, Just what we've been waiting for..

Installed on Windows 7 and got an empty channel list.. You can click on them and edit but just can't see the list.!!

I had a play - first thing to note is that you have to have Media Center running to use the Guide Tool.

Mine wouldn't connect to Media Center at first, I had to close Media Center and re-start it before it would connect.

The other thing to note is that you can connect to other machines - so you could run this on one PC and edit the guide on another!

Just got this working on my Netbook..

What a fantastic App.!!!!! This is gonna save me so much hassle... No more fussing about with the MCE guide... No more BigScreenEPG... No more Analogue tuner hack.!!!

Best thing to come to media centre in a long time.!!!!!

Haven't tried this yet, but soon will. Does this mean we DON'T have to install an analogue tuner to get the 2 week EPG using a floppydtv-c card ??

That's what the website suggests, and Mort's just confirmed!

I had a play with one channel and ended up with multiple channels in the guide (four channel 1's, four channel 2's etc.) So it might be worth familiarising yourselves with the backup/restore procedure which is on www.hack7mc.com It's not fool proof, though, so ghosting is probably a good idea.

I had the same problem you did... It appeared to work at first the i got loads of duplicate channels.. It's o.k. now i've deleted them though.. Guess we'll have to wait for a more developed version...

Version 1.1 has now been released:

Guide Tool - Guide Tool 1.1

Re-ran my tuner set up last night with just my 2x Floppydtvs (excluding the Pinnacle card i used previously to provide the epg workaround). Have managed to successfully map all my channels to the Virgin guide, and all working good so far...will continue to monitor over the coming days

How's it been? I might try this tonight.

I found that with version 1 it also seemed to load up a load of guide data (off satellite) that I didn't have linked to a card, and this dramatically slowed down the guide.
