Post splitting cable onto multiple tvs

hi i got a cable line and i was told that if i used a coax f 2 way splitter or 4 way i could run the feed line to the splitter and then have 2 to 4 coax cables running out of the splitter to 2 or 4 cable boxes to watch cable on 2 to 4 tvs all running different channels.

now i wondering if i can do something similar, is it possible to run the cable input lead into my cable box then run an output coax cable line from the cable box into a 2 or 4 way f splitter and then run 2 to 4 coax cables from the splitter too 2 to 4 seperate tvs (which will all display the same tv channel) ?

Just connect a splitter to the main feed and connect cables to the splitter and the boxes you will use as necessary. I have a V+, 2110C and a subbed modem all running from the same feed without any issues .

i think you can connect upto 3 boxes and 2 modems on the same line , imean in one house ,,
virgin say that it should be max 2 boxes ,
but ive read somewhere when people have connected 5 modd boxes and 2 modems on the same line by using splitters
hope that helps you

You can connect as many boxes/modems as you wish providing you have enough cables and a good splitter/booster to distribute the signal evenly between all the devices.

The line only supports a nominal four devices so you shouldn't really connect more than this to an "unassisted" line.

VM usually refuse to allow a 2nd modem to one address so mostly, only one modem is supported on a line (there are exceptions but VM are supposed to put an extra cable feed in where there are 2 modems in one building - ie flats etc). A single line usually wont support more than 35Mbps per channel anyway (and a lot of area's only have 1 DOCSIS 1 channel)

Amplifiers can add support for more devices but shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary - they tend to significantly worsen the snr ratio's on the signal.

hi
Not sure if this helps but i think i know what you mean you want to run 1 cable box and watch the same channel that is displayed from that box on upto 4 different tv's then yes you can what you need to do is make a lead with an ariel socket on 1 end and an f connecter the other plug the ariel socket into the rf out on the cable box and then plug the f connector into the in port of the spliter ( 2way or 4 way ) and then run coxial around the house to the tv's you require them to but don't forget that you will have to make a lead with the f connector 1 end and a ariel socket the other for all the tv's as well then once there pluged in just tune each tv untill it picks up the channel that is coming from the cable box thanks

I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED SORRY ABOUT THE BAD SPEELING AND GRAMMER LOL

thanks flump
