Default Sky plus (+) & recording TV

Hi folk.

Forgive me, I have tried searching but theres been a few conflicting opinions for what I'm trying to find out.

Put simply, I have a digibox wired up to an Octo LNB. We subscribe to Sky on a basic package. My question - If I bought a second hand Sky plus box and replaced my current digibox with it would I be able to run another cable to it from my LNB and be able to record, pause etc the channels I already receive without contacting Sky or paying more fees?

Thanks

Yes on the cabling.

You would need to contact Sky to get the PVR (Plus) bits enabled. There used to be a £10 per month charge to have this if you didn't sub to movies or sport, but this may now be defunct. Can anyone else clarify?

Yes,as long you subscribe to the minimum 1 mix,you can use the Sky+ recording facilities, without any further charge.

But I think you would need multi room to be able to use a second sky+ box for recording.

Thanks folks! I'll give it a whirl. I'll have a go and type up what I find on here.
