Default updating bbc1 local channel...but...

this is driving me nuts.
Basically my bbc1 is London and needs to be Nottingham East Midlands.
I followed the instructions here, but it wiped all my channels out.
Luckily i had my cdf on my lappy so i used voxer to reload it.
I then looked for a Nottingham cdf on here, found one but have no idea what i'm looking at to change. I can't actually edit any entries in voxer so why do people go on about editing your list etc in voxer???

I'm obviously missing a trick here, but god knows what.
I DL'd Lincsats .txt file, which says to rename as .cdf, which i did, but voxer doesn't recognise it as valid .cdf file.

WTF???

Currently my bbc1 (london) is on:
frequency 395.00
v-pid 7945
a-pid 8105
p-pid 7945

If someone could help me with either:
1. rescanning a particular transponder or whatever to get bbc1 nottingham. Can i not just edit that particular channel?
2. Help me with editing my .cdf file in voxer so bbc london details are changed to the bbc1 nottingham details, whatever they may be.

Any help much appreciated, as its starting to aggravate me now, and i already get stick of the rest of the family for "not having sky+"

Thanks for the input, BUT i actually receive BBC London, not midlands. I have no interest in what goes on in the big smoke.
I can rename the channels, thats causes no 'stress' whatsoever, but i'm looking for advice on how to change the frequency etc to enable me to watch the midlands news.

no one else have any advice to offer?
Apart from Phil, thanks mate

Ideally all i want to do is edit my BBC1 London channel so i can get the Nottingham (East Mids) region instead.
If i use someone elses working cfd then it buggers up all my own listings in cluding my faves etc.

Surely amending one channel isn't hard to do!

when I scan I get about a dozen different BBC1's (but mine is named correctly)
if yours is not named correctly view them when the local news is on and see if one of them is your area, if it is rename it to what you want

Hi smoggy, it was your previous post i linked to in my op.
Quote:
this is for max v but I think 1000 is the same
whilst on the BBC 1 channel press the remote info button twice to see what the frequency is of that channel
then
Menu / Installation / Fast Install and press OK (enter pin)
Now press the red button on the remote for advanced install
Scroll to the frequency with the channels you want to update
Press OK on remote this will put a tick next to the frequency
Press the Blue Button on the remote to do a manual scan of that frequency
I have an EX5100PVR with the feb 09 firmware (no autosort i beleive).
Your info above didn't work for me, it effectively wiped everything and i had to reload it from my save .cdf.
Like the other user in that thread, i deleted all other regional channels, so it looks like i'll have to rescan again, but still unsure as to how as the method above didn't work.
If you can offer any more help it would be most appreciated.

again I stress this is for Maxv and may be slightly different on your model

when you did the procedure last time you probably didn't have the correct symbolrate selected

Menu / Installation / Fast Install and press OK (enter pin)
Now press the red button on the remote for advanced install (on this screen you can select your symbolrate)
Scroll down the options and turn Fav Sort off (if you have the nosort firmware this option is not there)
Press Exit on the remote control (not OK) and the frequency screen appears
Scroll to the frequency you want and press OK on the remote to put a tick next to it
Press the Blue Button on the remote to do a manual scan of that frequency
After a brief period the channels should come back on and the favourites left intact

Riiight. I did select the correct frequiency, but your 2 descripions differ slightly mate
You've added the 'press exit..." line in, which i reckon will make a heap of difference.
Thanks smoggy will give it a go when i get home.

sorry, i meant symbol rate.
Err, did you mean GREEN button for manual scan, BLUE is for powerscan.

Well i pressed the green button anyway.
So it went blank for a while then came back onto bbc 1 london. Looked in the tv list and there's still only one bbc1 channel (???)

edit: all sorted mate, thanks for your help.
I actually scanned a different frequency to that of bbc1 london and got my midlands back. \o/
