help reading original n*l card

hi ,ive got a modded box buy a guy after i gave him the origonal card and the box ,,he did a fun card for me ,and gave me the origonal card the white with n*tl written on it back ,
the guy is gone now ,
so i bought a cas 3 programmer ,and did mine fun when it went down ,
ive still got the origonal card ,
when i try to read it in nagra 4.1 by clicking on reset card , it says this

Opening of COM1 was successful
Reset failed
Error reseting card, ATR string invalid
Closing of COM1 was successful

ia m using a serial db9 cable and put the cas 3 in phoenix mode 3.68 ,tried the 3.5as well but still the same message ,,
i did use the xncs with the compatability setting chaged to windows 98 and select the com1 ,mine is an old system which still has the com port at its back , but it gives me still the same message ,,
obviously i have got a all the card details from the fun card earlier ,,
im just doing it to check and use mine origonal card if its ever needed ,,
what am i not doing correct ,,
i will try cleaning the terminals and try ,,if you continue to do it repeatedly ,will i damage the card ,
can some one help pls

You want phoenix 3.68

Make sure the correct com port is selected in nagra and double check all of your connections.

It sounds like it could be a connection problem somewhere along the way. Yes try cleaning the contacts it may work.

Was the card working fine though? As the card may be fried

yes i am using 3.68 in phoenix mode ,
and the nagra date settings are ok ,,
i ve even tried com 2 but still the same message ,,
yes its an old card ,,but it was working then i think 4years back ,,
could it be possible the dates might have gone ,so its not opening ,,i was using the au fun card which is still working ,done it couple of months ago ,,
what should i do now ,,
should i try mrom ,or keep trying ,,i dont want to damage the card ,,

Sounds like the card may be fried if its that old mate dont no if you can do much with it.

Do you need to get any details off the card or do you just want to use it?

If you don't need the details then just try mrom to reset it you might be lucky.

But if you need details it looks like you might have to go about them another way ie jtag.

easiest way to get your details for that box is a plug and play led simm it will give you your details in a second ..... but i see you have your details so just by a blank mosc and put a new image on it from the download section ..dont forget to add your bk and ird to the new image and set the dates

its like a memory stick and u just replace it with the 1 inside the pace box

Did you unloop Your Original card, if not it needs unlooping m8, then you can read it through Nagra 4.1.

Did you put your programmer into 3.68MHz Phoenix Mode using the CAS Software? The card can only be read by a programmer operating in this mode.

if this card is pure white its not original card should be mostly green and purple and even locked cards that i have tried give atr unless its dead
