Just purchased this plasma but not had delivery as yet. Has anyone seen this model in action or have comments on it at all.
Also, how long does the plasma last and is it right that after a while they need to be topped up? Anyway, here is the TV I,m on about: ![]()

When looking for mine m8 I read some poor reviews of LG plasmas preferring the Pioneer. although I understand they are much better now. The 852x480 is a bit low for a 42 inch screen if your connecting it to your PC. Having said that my other choice was the LG but after getting really confused by all the sales crap and sites I visited I just took the Pany TH-37PV500B with a res of 1024x720, looks fantastic when the PC is connected but then I paid for the privilege £2100
Hope you have a big room m8 cos the 42" is gonna swamp you, my room is fairly big, you need to be a fair way away to get the full benefit of a plasma (can look a bit bitty when close) thats why I had the 37". How much was it m8? Don't think you need to worry about the top up stuff as that related to the older plasma's, I think you get about 20000-30000 hrs before you need to worry. You do need to be aware of "burn in" when using a PC connection though, keep the screensaver on all the time. If your mounting it on the wall make sure you get a good fix cos plasma's are fookin heavy.

Yeh, there is gas inside a plasma screen that will fade out with time, but it must be a good 5 years before that happens. They are airtight so its not like the gas just escapes

Well the LG was the only available plasma my supplier had in stock so thats the only one I can get unless I pay cash that is
![]() My room is small and the current TV is a 28" wide screen job, but before that we had a 32" normal tubed TV, a big bugger by Tompson and still going strong. The settee is only 6ft away from the TV and thats the max distance we can get, so its a in the lap job Im afraid. Laters |

I would have gone for a HD display, that one is only 480 lines (USA standard) resolution - for HD you need either 720 or preferably 1080 lines
