Default V+ and Samsung 2110c

Hi All

I am hoping some one can help me. I have both the boxes in the title which have previously worked and I am hoping to find someone who can fix them both me. I am based in Essex romford area and I don't have clue how they work and don't have the time to do the amount of reading required.

The V+ box I am pretty sure I know what the problem is I am just a bit scared to attempt to fix it myself. The point where the cable attaches to the back of the box had started to twist. I have tightened in up but I think the damage has been done. The online light flashes and the box is stuck on ap52..

The Samsung box used to show all the channels now it only shows the FTA channels.

So if any one is local can help me and wants to earn a few quid let me know.

Well the V+ needs soldering job, very easy, you will need to open the box and solder that bit when you connect the cable back onto the board that's why it's showing AP52 no signal, when you open the box you will see where its broken off all you will need is a soldering iron.
The second box 2110 will need the smartcard to be updated but you will need card programmer for that, and that is it m8, your done.

Thanks for the reply i am looking inside the V+ box and there is a metal box which i am assuming houses the tuners? There doesn't seem any way inside this apart from bending the pieces of metal round? DOes that sound right?

yes you will have to twist that piece to open the tuner box then you can get to to the board where you have to solder the connector back on, you can post a pic of the tuner so we can give you more help, I don't have a V+ box at home so I could tell if the tuner can be detached from the board, that would make the job easier.

the tuner cant be detached but the f connector could come loose and disconnect. would have thought a solder mod would sort it.

it goes thru to the other side of the board aswell so thats handy.

the outer looks like its stuck on with some metal glue stuff.

if its really goosed, you could solder the inner and outer to the inner and outer bit of the tuner to some coax with a f connector on and use a coupler. bit of a rough mod yeah but you dont see the back of the box do ya!

Thanks for everyones help so far. I have got the tuner case off and it could see the cable had been snapped due to the twisting.

I have just bought a soldering iron and gave it ago. Plugged the box back in and now the online led stays on and i am getting a tv guide so it is getting some sort of signal. But on every channel i am getting no picture and no sound but with no error messages. If i do reboot the box i am getting the error 10007 "your smart card is not inserted preperly etc" if i reboot again this error goes but still no picture or sound.

Any ideas?

edit

On the odd channel i am getting a milisecond of picture and then nothing. DO i need to get my solder iron out again?
