Load any config into it m8 just edit the upstream and downstrearm parameters to 0 for full network access with no restrictions. Don't know how obvious it is to VM though thats if it works which it probably wont as all the configs are signed which is why vultureware asks for the authentication string when you click save. What should happen if a modem attempts to register to the CMTS with an incorrectly signed config it should not go operational although clearly there are exceptions to this rule!

Just change the filter to all files mate, or rename the config to .bin

Hi mate, i'm a bit confused about which idea you were going to try.
cm-20480-768 is already 20M.

If you were going to try to uncap it like G77 then you can try that, but as you're using an old FW - fibrecoax then I don't think you will be able to autoserve it anyway.

If I were you i'd try to flash a newer FW onto your modem before you do anything...I don't know what modem you have so not sure if there is a newer FW.

TBH if you're unsure about performing the steps i've given so far, and your modem is still working at 10M..i'd leave it alone for now as it gets a lot more complicated

As sr20 says, leave it at 10MB if it's stable. VM are trying to stop us using hacked modems so just be grateful for the speeds you get. I'm not having a dig i'm just saying it as it is.

4200's are very old now and there's no further FW dev going on for them.

TBH mate i'd invest in a SB5101 as they're excellent, then have a play with that
