Default If i gave someone my MAC address

Hi folks, got a friend of a friend who is asking me for my MAC address, my friend says its ok to give him it as it wont affect me in any way, although my friend now's nothing about this kinda stuff and im just at the learning stage, how would it affect me as i do download a lot of stuff and need it for my work etc, could vermin find out if 2 peeps are using the same and would it have any bearing on how i use the net, cheers,

I would never give out my mac address at the least you will hit the traffic shaping quicker! What I would do though is use DHCP sniffer DO NOT use the bruteforce option and just leave it passively scanning, after a couple of hours you should of collected a fair few macs, I would get your m8 to do the same and then swap the lists that you have created and you will both have a list of mac addresses you can use bbut DO NOT give him yours!

as above, just sniff for macs in your area and give him those (or trade) you do not want to give your own out as the risk is always there, of course on your end, you can always say your internets not working if the macs blacklisted, but theres no point going to that effort if you can give out other mac addresses
