Question good strength no quality

hi I set up my dish, went down to see the pic , nothing,, it said strength very good but quality was zero? also I seen a reply about using a portable tv .. do I just plug cable into ariel at the back???? help

Sounds like your dish isn't aligned properly. Its quite possible to get a high signal level even when the dish isn't pointing anywhere near a satellite from just random background radiation

Other possibilities are that you haven't set up your parameters properly. LNB frequencies, symbol rates, scan frequencies etc.

Not sure what your asking about the portable TV - you certainly cant plug the lnb lead directly into you TV if thats what your trying ???

Any TV must be connected to a digibox of some sort.

It's the quality meter you need to pay attention to. It is handy to use a portable TV and the recievers satellite meter.

I have a 7" LCD tv and I have made up a 30m Composite Video cable. This lets me view the recievers meter right next to the dish when I do an install. It really is the best way without spending a fortune on an expensive meter.
